Outlook.com’s 1996-era password limitations

So I decided to be an early adopter for once, and maybe even claim my first-choice vanity email address before anyone else (I didn’t), so I hustled over to outlook.com to try and get my firstname@outlook.com.

And then it turns out they are still using their limited-size password field from 1997…

Use a short one, dude

You’d think they could store a longer password by now.

In any case, I went with a slightly-obfuscated email address, to make it less likely to be guessed by spammers.
